After getting my masters Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I worked in a hospital specifically serving LGBTQ+ adults. This informed my clinical practice greatly, incorporating dialectical behavioral therapy into my therapeutic skillset. I moved to Berlin in late 2021 and started seeing individual clients in 2022. Since then I’ve continued to see clients 1:1 as well as working with Bard University Berlin as a university counselor, and with Linden Global Education working with LGBTQ+ adolescents.
In my experience curiosity is what helps us overcome shame. I come curious about you, your values, your experiences and how you think about the world.
Together we look at what’s happening for you without judgement or even a definitive knowing, but instead (you guessed it) curiosity.
We are just two people trying to figure life out in a time where larger power structures can encourage hopelessness. I believe relationship will be the thing that saves us, and this shows in the work we do together.
My framework is largely influenced by relational therapy. Here we take into account what relational dynamics keep occurring, and use the therapeutic relationships as an agent for change.
You are the authority of your life and your experience. My job is not to tell you who you are, or what you should do, but instead help you find a way back your inner-authority, so that you leave session feeling empowered and able. You will always know more about yourself than me, and I think that’s a great thing!
