Body-oriented counseling to come back to yourself.

For when we're feeling off, lost or in transition.

Erin
Wilmanns

Hi, I'm Erin.

I’m a non-binary expat living in Berlin, so you don’t have to use session time to educate your counselor or feel like they don’t “get it”. I’m also trained as a dance/movement therapist and psychological counselor. I do this work because I know how lonely anxiety, dissociation, and relationship difficulties can feel. I’m here to guide you through transformation so that you can start living a life you feel embodied and empowered in.

What sessions can look like.

There’s several ways into exploring the harder parts of ourselves and our experiences.  Sometimes it looks like an orientation towards one modality below, but many times it’s a fluid process.

Talk therapy

Here we can explore what patterns keep coming up for you with curiosity, so that we can shift more towards behaviors and thoughts that align with who you want to be.

This can look like learning to set boundaries or communicate your needs. Other times it may look like identifying what you actually want in the first place.

Body-Oriented Counseling

I believe the body holds wisdom the mind can have a hard time accessing. With body oriented work we continuously come back to physical sensations, and learn to trust the body as a valid source of information.

This can look like learning how to sit with discomfort, coming back to the present when feeling disconnected or numb and experiencing the full spectrum of aliveness.

dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT)

Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) gives you the opportunity to build a skills toolbox specific to your daily life. The four pillars are distress tolerance, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness and emotional regulation.

We do this in a structured approach that focuses on holding opposite experiences that are simultaneously true (ie. I’m so mad at my partner and I love them, too).

Testimonials

Working with Erin these last few months has been fantastic, since starting therapy for the first time - they have given me the space and supported me in in my journey to heal and develop myself in ways I could not have imagined, and I'm very thankful to still be on that journey.
-J
DBT changed my life, and the way I'm able to interact with my partner. I never thought that I would be able to feel okay during conflict, but it's much less scary now.
-V
Erin was able to deeply listen to me and *even remotely* help me cope with my loss and my new reality. We worked effectively on emotional regulation through body movement and control. It helped me realize how self-reliant I could be and how I could slowly build up my self-esteem again.
